Previous collabs have seen Xbox show off a Series X and S based on Star Wars' popular Mandalorian series, as well as a Barbie-themed Series S for the release of the hugely successful Barbie movie last month. A Redfall-themed Xbox Series X was the grand prize of a sweepstakes leading up to Arkane's vampire FPS earlier this year. Despite this, Xbox has been no stranger to producing a number of Series X and S consoles themed after games and movie franchises as part of fun giveaway events. Celebrating 20 years of the Halo franchise, Xbox released the Halo Series X alongside Halo Infinite's launch in 2021. Since the launch of the Xbox Series X in 2020, there's only been one special edition Series X based on a first-party Xbox game that's been made widely available.
Following up FromSoftware's 2022 masterpiece Elden Ring, Armored Core 6marks the studio's return to its lesser-known mech franchise after a decade of defining the Souls genre with renowned titles like Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, becoming one of the most widely celebrated studios in the industry. Leading up to next week's launch of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, Xbox is giving away a special edition Series X themed after the upcoming mech action game. Fans can enter the giveaway by following Xbox's and Armored Core's Twitter accounts and retweeting the original tweet with the hashtag #XboxArmoredCoreSweepstakes by September 1.This is not the first time Xbox has released a special edition console based on a game or movie franchise, with previous collaborations including Halo, Redfall, Star Wars, and Barbie.Xbox is giving away a special edition Armored Core-themed Xbox Series X to celebrate the launch of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.
